Auction Success

We heard a great presentation on May 18 from Jeff Schultz of David Evans & Associates, and we had a very successful auction. Thanks to everyone who helped us raise over $800.

Reporting from FRA and BSPRA Meetings in Missoula

Gary Wirt and Charlie Hamilton traveled to Missoula to represent AAWA and other rail advocacy organizations to provide feedback to the Federal Railroad Administration’s Amtrak Daily Long-Distance Service Study, during the fourth of four meetings on June 6. Gary and Charlie reported on our activities to the AAWA General Meeting on June 15. See the recording linked here.

Of particular interest to the Northwest are the Seattle-Denver (“Pioneer”) and Seattle-Chicago (“North Coast Hiawatha”) routes.

The Summit brings together rail experts and advocates to continue working toward restoring a true national rail network that includes service to the largely underserved Greater Northwest.
