AAWA Annual Picnic, August 2022
12:00 noonVenue Information
Rainier Vista Community Park 5475 45th Ave SE Lacey Washington 98503
We'll be back in Lacey this year, after 2021's successful event in S. Cle Elum. Contact us if you need transportation from the train station.
Being outside and responsible behavior should render us OK, despite COVID’s persistence.
Burgers will be provided, but, as in the past, all other edibles will be potluck. We’re asking for donations to cover burgers, etc., plus park facility rental.
As was the case for the most recent AAWA Picnics, the 2022 event will be held at Lacey’s Rainier Vista Community Park, 5475 45th Ave SE, in the SE part of Lacey, about a mile NW of Centennial Rail Station. Rain probability on August 13 is remote, but we do have a reserved shelter. We’ll gather about noon. Picnic site is ours all day.
Car shuttles from Centennial Station (OLW) to/from the Picnic site will be provided for those of you arriving by train. Amtrak service is still limited in Cascadia. Sort of reasonable train schedules that will work:
- From the North: Train 11 scheduled arrival OLW 11:19. Back to the North: Train 14 scheduled departure from OLW 6:01.
- From the South: Train 500 scheduled arrival 10:13. Back to the South: Train 505 scheduled departure from OLW 3:30.
Please do inform us if you are coming by train, so we can have your shuttle to the Picnic!
Registration for the Picnic is requested, but if you fail to so, you are sill welcome to attend. Elected legislators from the Olympia/Lacey area will be invited (both Ds and Rs).But this will be mostly a social/fun event.
While those of you from outside Western WA and NW OR getting this invitation are very welcome to join us on August 13, we understand if you are with us in spirit only.
For attendees: Potluck! Bring edibles to share!
